The Lost Childhood

Our children are losing a very important part of their lives, their childhood. Our entertainment was each other, we had no internet or cell phones. But this allowed us to entertain ourselves through interaction and physical activity. We didn't have distractions taking us away from each other's presence. Texting and facebooking has turned our children into generation of mindless drones who can only interact when they're behind a keyboard, earpiece, or speaker. We must realize that our children are interacting with machines instead of each other. And that no game can compete with a good book when it comes to using imagination. No on screen "person" can beat talking to a real human.
